9/23/2023 0 Comments Modified bed rest![]() I’m scared of the C Section process (I’ve always needed extra novocaine during dental procedures - not sure if this will be the same for epidurals/spinals), the recovery and potential of not being with my baby right away/having to go home with out him. I was so fortunate to have a natural, vaginal delivery with my first. The doctors say that our son will likely have a short stay in the NICU, but we won’t be able to determine how long until he is born. The game plan is to continually monitor the baby and me until 34 weeks at which time we will do a C Section (unless I start bleeding again - then the C Section will happen immediately). They said it is vasa previa - I’m now on full bed rest in the hospital until baby comes. I was admitted to L&D to figure out what was going on. I was admitted overnight and given two shots of steroids and sent home on modified bed rest - I was only allowed on my feet for 30 minute intervals.Īt 32 + 5 I bled enough to fill two pads. ![]() The perinatologist did ultrasounds and said it was just a scare.Īt 31 + 4 the bleeding started again, this time filling a pad. Went to L&D who monitored the baby and sent me for a follow up with the perinatologist. Then at 31 + 1 I started bleeding, filled a little more than a panty liner. Thankfully the placenta previa corrected itself resulting in a movement of the exposed blood vessels. At the time there was a series exposed blood vessels at my cervix, but they said let’s wait to see if it moves. ![]() I had bleeding at 9 weeks which was said to be a subchrionic hemorrhage, then diagnosed with placenta previa at my 20 week scan. Second time mommy and this pregnancy couldn’t be any different from my first.
